Bicep Form For Better Results

March 15, 2006

To receive the maximum benefit from your bicep training, keep the following tips in mind. When performing a standing bicep exercise, keep your back straight and abs tight throughout the movement to use only the biceps and not momentum to lift the weight. Pay attention that you don’t allow your elbows to rest on your hips, they should be close to and slightly in front of your body. For any bicep movement it is important to keep your elbows and shoulders stationary to keep the focus on the bicep muscles. Use the elbow as a hinge, moving only the lower arm. Avoid curling your wrists at the start of each repetition. Be sure to move the biceps thru a full range of motion, slowly and smoothly. If your form becomes sloppy this is a sign that the weight you are using is too heavy.
