Bike Back Pain
May 15, 2006
Many people are getting back on their bikes and hitting the trails now that pleasant temperatures are here. A frequent complaint from cyclists is that riding hurts their backside. Commonly this back pain can be caused by the angle formed by the spine and the pelvic bone while riding. Simply tilting the front of the seat down by 10-15 degrees can alleviate this discomfort. Remember that you may not have been biking during the colder months and you need to ease your body back into the activity. For other tips or adjustments contact a local bike shop to make your ride more comfortable and enjoyable.
